Training on safeguarding and managing virtualised data centres
New in the Fast Lane portfolio: "Managing and Securing the Virtual Network Enterprise"
Hamburg/Berlin, 25 July 2013 – The Cisco Virtual Security Gateway (VSG) for switches in the Cisco Nexus 1000V series provides a comprehensive range of zone-based security features. In addition to this, the Cisco ASA 1000V Cloud Firewall solution provides the edge security features required for a comprehensive cloud security solution. And the Cisco Virtual Network Management Centre (VNMC) offers centralised device and security policy management. In the new "Managing and Securing the Virtual Network Enterprise" (MSVNE) course, Fast Lane trainers show IT managers how to configure and install these three components. The course is aimed primarily at system engineers, data centre architects and security architects.
The course combines theoretical components with intensive hands-on lab exercises, in which participants put their knowledge into practice under expert supervision. The participants first install and configure the Cisco VSG, the ASA 1000V and the VNMC, and also learn how to update the solutions. Furthermore, the trainer explains how a secure virtualised network in multi-tenant scenarios is designed. Advanced security policy concepts form an essential part of the course. Upon completing the course, participants will be able, among other things, to design and implement appropriate security policies for the Nexus 1000V switch solution as well as for various cloud installations.
