Course Overview

This hands-on course presents VxRail installation and implementation procedures in a customer environment. It covers hardware installation, validation of customer network environment, system initialization, post-deployment tasks, cluster expansion, and implementation troubleshooting. Software simulations and video demonstrations are also included to provide a step-by-step walkthrough of the key installation and implementation procedures.

Who should attend

This course is intended for Dell EMC employees and Dell EMC partners who are responsible for the deployment and implementation of VxRail Appliance at customer sites.

Prerequisites

  • Basic understanding of converged and hyper-converged infrastructure
  • Technical proficiency with all VMware vSphere components
  • Knowledge of Layer-2 Networking

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the VxRail installation and implementation process
  • Download, review, and validate the Pre-Engagement Questionnaire (PEQ)
  • Perform pre-deployment preparation and validation tasks
  • Deploy a VxRail system with embedded or external vCenter Server
  • Deploy a vSAN 2-node VxRail cluster
  • Perform post-deployment validation tasks
  • Perform cluster expansion
